Joyful
to serve God, each other and our community in all our endeavors, both personal
and public, with love, patience and understanding.
We are a small church community with approximately 60 families making their
Church Home here. When you stop by for a visit and worship with us, you will quickly
notice that our parish always has the welcome mat out. Our welcome is genuine
and real. We happily open our circles of friends and families to all who are looking
for a sense of "community" and "belonging".
Some of us have lived
in Tennessee for a lifetime, while others have discovered the riches of God's
Grace in East Tennessee from other parts of the world. In Sevierville, Tennessee,
we blend our talents, our backgrounds and our faith into the wonderful parish
known as St. Joseph the Carpenter.
Thank
you for stopping by St. Joseph the Carpenter for a visit. We are excited about
our new website and will be updating and adding featurtes as we adjust and learn
our new system. St. Joseph is an exceptional parish in that we really open to
newcomers and new ideas. Creativity is encouraged in every part of the parish.
It is so wonderful to be Alive! Stop in for a visit and stay a lifetime!
We
will have Morning Prayer at the 10:30 AM service on the first Sunday of each month
through the summer season. Holy Communion will still be offered at the 8:00 AM
service on those days.
The Morning Prayer Service was the traditional worship service
in the Episcopal church during the time the 1928 Book of Common Prayer was in
use. In 1979 the Prayer Book was revised to restore the ancient tradition of Holy
Communion as the normative Sunday liturgy.
We hope you will join us for
this beautiful service.
